Pioneer QT-6600 Reel to Reel deck review

The Pioneer QT-6600 reel to reel deck was released in 1971. This five head belt drive model featured black MC meters and a wood case.  The  QT-6600 was the big brother to its lower head count counterpart the  QT-6100. Pioneer T-6600 Reel to Reel deck review

The Pioneer T-6600 reel to reel deck was released in 1971. This four head belt drive model featured auto reverse, record and play, pause,  easy load and a silver control panel.  The  T-6600 fit right in between its lower head count counterpart the  T-6100 version and its slightly higher end dual motor version the T-8800. Pioneer T-8800 Reel to Reel deck review

The Pioneer T-8800 reel to reel deck was released in 1971. This four head model featured auto reverse, record and play, bias selection, sound on sound; easy load and a remote.  The  T-8800 was the big brother to the T-6600 and T-6100 and also featured walnut side panels and was supplied with a PR-70 reel.  The T-8800 was in production for three model  years until 1973 when its retail price went up $50 dollars to a $549.95 US price tag.

Pioneer RT-71 Reel to Reel deck review

The Pioneer RT-71 reel to reel deck was released in 1971. This four head model featured auto reverse, record and play.  Strikingly similar to the pioneer T-6600 only with a black face and walnut side panels the 71 also came supplied with a PR-75 reel and a rare optional wired remote PP-210 was offered up in the Japanese market.  The RT-71 was in production for three years until 1974 with its retail price remaining at $299.95 US.

The Pioneer QT-74 reel to reel deck was released in 1973. This five head model featured auto reverse, record and play 2/4ch, fast rewind a black face and walnut side panels. It also came supplied with a PR-75 reel and two reel clampers. The Pioneer RT-1020L reel to reel deck was released in 1973.  Features include 3-bias, 2-EQ tape selector, sound on sound and walnut side panels. It also came supplied with a PR-100 reel and two PP-200 adapters. This silver face piece of pioneer beauty debuted at $599.95 but like other models this year could be found at European military outlets slightly discounted at the time.  The RT-1020l was available up until 1979 at a MSRP of $650 US.
